My mother makes the world's BEST cherry pie. You can forget about the classic apple. It's fine, don't get me wrong, but if Mom makes a pie, I want cherry. Just looking at it makes my taste buds dance!
This is Alex's favorite and Michelle needs to learn how to make one. Do you think your mom would be willing to share the recipe? Looks great! I make the apple and other kinds, I am not a cherry fan, sorry.
Mom uses the Betty Crocker recipe. What makes her pies so good (cherry OR apple) is when she uses fresh fruit. I am not a big fan of canned, especially for cherry- it's too sweet. To make a good cherry pie, you need pie cherries, which are too tart to be eaten without some kind of sweetener (honey, in this case).
I am a keen amateur photographer, an avid traveler, a dedicated researcher. My main area of interest is the European middle ages although I like history and culture, especially social history, of all eras and regions. I am especially fond of good architecture and I am really, really fond of reptiles.
I usually post this blog to share highlights from my travels with family and friends. If you are a potential friend wandering by, you are welcome; any of my art or nature images posted here are available for non profit personal or study use, and if reproduced I ask that I be credited as photographer.

Fresh or frozen, that is. The cherries in this pie were from the freezer (last summer harvest).
