Bear Lake Upping Street

Gorgeous!

Hummingbirds!

Hummingbirds are tricky to photograph,
small, fast, and relatively shy.
They are used to people gawking at them,
up on the deck at the Bear Lake house,
but the males in particular seem to know
when a CAMERA is aimed at them,
and then they fly away.
But there are a good dozen of them that haunt the place.
They are great fun to watch.

And What is So Rare as a Day in June?

Gorgeous weather for a drive up Sardine Canyon...
Hillsides covered with flowering yellow bee plant...

The yellow of the bee plant really sets off the blue of the penstemmons:

And look at this little guy!
What delicate wings.

This is the kind of day that makes me happy to be alive.

Guest Bedroom- "After" view

And here is my new guest room!
(Along with the "man of the house"-
perfect, if you like them good looking, strong and silent).

Putting the new room together

I bribed my nephew to come over and help me put my new bed together.
He responds well to ice cream and books,
although he actually liked tightening all the widgets
with the Allen wrench,
in the tight corners...

A 10 year old with a talent for putting together Lego sets
actually is a pretty good helper on these kinds of projects...

Guest Bedroom- "Before" View

This was my guest room,
until my sister asked if she could have the four poster bed for my niece.
I'm not all that terribly fond of white/gilded furniture anyway,
so I let her have the bed,
and the chest of drawers.
Then I went to IKEA...
